FAQs
Any questions?
We got you.
We understand creating a will can raise questions. That’s why we’re here to help. Find answers to common questions here, and feel free to reach out if you need more assistance.
Do I really need a will?
Everyone should have a Will.
A Will is a legal document that designates who is in charge and who will receive your property when you pass away.
If you die without a Will, the State of Texas will decide who gets your assets, which may not align with your wishes.
Why should I get a Simple Will instead of doing it myself for free?
Short answer: You get what you pay for.
Long answer: You work hard for the things you own and want to ensure they go to the right people when you pass away.
We understand that working with an attorney can be costly and overwhelming, which is why we created Simple Will . As licensed Texas attorneys, we’ve designed these documents to comply with Texas law, at a fraction of the cost.
I don’t have an estate, do I still need a will?
This is a common misconception; however, almost everyone has an estate. Whether it’s a house, car, or bank account, all of these are considered part of an estate, and we want to help ensure you decide where they go when you pass away.
Can I change my will?
Should I get a trust? I've heard that's what I need.
Most people in Texas do not need a trust. While a trust may be a better option for some, we recommend speaking with an estate planning attorney to determine if it’s the right choice for you.
Why should I get a Simple Will instead of a will from another website?
Unlike many of our competitors, we are Texas attorneys who specialize in estate planning and write simple wills specifically for Texans. Many online wills are forms created by attorneys in other states who may not be familiar with Texas law.
Do you offer Wills for residents outside of Texas?
No, our Wills and legal documents are specifically designed for Texas residents. Each state has its own legal requirements, and our documents are tailored to Texas laws to ensure they meet state-specific guidelines.
Unfortunately, we do not provide Wills for other states at this time.
How long does it take to receive my will?
You’ll receive your completed will by email within 48 hours. Simple, fast, and entirely digital.
